NAD+: What Happens When Researchers Actually Measure It?

August 20, 2026 • Human Research

🧬 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN RESEARCHERS ACTUALLY MEASURE NAD+?

NAD+ gets talked about everywhere, but measuring what happens inside the body is more useful than repeating the hype.

A 2026 randomized, placebo-controlled study examined a specific oral NAD+ formulation in healthy adults ages 45–75. Researchers reported an increase in intracellular whole-blood NAD+ after five days, while plasma NAD+ did not show the same change.

That’s an interesting distinction: where a biomarker is measured can matter.

It also doesn’t mean every NAD+ formulation, route, or product behaves the same way. This was a short study of one particular formulation.

Research is always better with context. 🧬
