More Mitochondria… or Better Mitochondria?

🧬 MORE MITOCHONDRIA… OR BETTER MITOCHONDRIA? ⚡

Here’s something pretty interesting from 2026 MOTS-C research.

Researchers weren’t just asking whether MOTS-C could increase mitochondrial machinery. They wanted to know whether the mitochondria already there could actually work better.

In experimental skeletal-muscle research, MOTS-C improved mitochondrial bioenergetic performance and efficiency while also reducing mitochondrial oxidative stress.

In simple terms:

The power plants weren’t necessarily multiplying…

the existing power plants appeared to be working better. ⚡

That’s an interesting distinction when we’re talking about cellular energy and metabolism.

These findings come primarily from experimental/preclinical research and should not be interpreted as demonstrating the same effects in humans.

Stay curious, research friends. 🧬
