One branch of the retatrutide Phase 3 program examined adults with obesity or overweight and knee osteoarthritis.
Researchers evaluated more than body weight. They also measured knee-osteoarthritis pain and related outcomes.
Reported Phase 3 results showed substantial average weight reduction alongside improvement in measured knee-pain scores.
That doesn’t mean retatrutide should simply be described as a knee-pain treatment. The study population had obesity/overweight plus knee osteoarthritis, and the relationship between weight change, metabolic effects, and pain outcomes deserves careful interpretation.
